Support Local: Kansas City-Based Metaphysical and Self-Help Podcasts

by Christi Clemons Hoffman

Where do you get your information, your entertainment? Social media? Cable? Print or online publications?

What about podcasts?

Podcasting has been around since 2004 with the advent of the iPod and broadband internet access. Today there are over 2,000,000 podcasts available, with 48,000,000 episodes and counting. New studies show that there are an estimated 120 million podcast listeners and that number will “surpass 160 million in 2023 after increases of around 20 million each year.” Suffice to say that podcasting is a very important part of where we get our information and entertainment. You can find podcasts for literally every interest out there, from Astronomy to Zoology, and thousands on interests of the mind/body/spirit variety.

But did you know that there are now two podcasts devoted to spirituality, metaphysics, mindfulness, and wellness produced right here in Kansas City?

The Radiate Wellness Podcast (radiatewellnesscommunity.com/podcast), launched in 2018, is now three years old, with more than 170 episodes and counting. Part of Radiate Wellness, LLC, the Radiate Wellness Podcast is hosted by metaphysician, medium, Reiki Master, and Level 3 QHHT practitioner Christi Clemons Hoffman, MA, CHt; and edited and produced by James Wheeler.

What began as a way to showcase Radiate Wellness practitioners and provide a source for information for their modalities for the Kansas City wellness and metaphysical community quickly grew to become an internationally-known podcast show.

The Radiate Wellness Podcast has been blessed to have some truly amazing guests: authors, filmmakers, doctors, and luminaries such as Geoff Thompson (Ep102), Cyndi Dale (Ep118), Christine Kane (Ep126), Jim Harold (Ep 37, Ep37), Dr. Dravon James (Ep97, Ep160), David Ditchfield (Ep96), Dr. John Dimartini (Ep177), Terry McBride (Ep158, Ep 179), and many others. Guests—and listeners—come from the UK, Japan, Australia, and all over Europe with thousands of downloads.

Each episode of the podcast features a guest who “Radiates” a certain quality such as Radiate Profitability with Doug Vermeeren (Ep170), Radiate Luck with Joseph Gallenberger (Ep132), Radiate Intuition with Melanie Barnum (Ep152), Radiate Compassion with Lionel Friedberg (Ep139), or Radiate Empowerment with Julia Cannon (Ep145) as well as Kansas City authors, activists, and practitioners such as Stephanie Red Feather (Ep65, Ep178), Margie Kay (Ep79, Ep180) and Sami Aaron (Ep35, Ep51).

The Radiate Wellness Podcast is 5-Star rated and available on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify—basically wherever you find podcasts. A video version of the podcast is at youtube.com/radiatewellness. New episodes are available each Tuesday.

And then there’s the Real-Life Angel Encounters podcast, a brand-new show also produced here in Kansas City with the team of Christi Clemons Hoffman and James Wheeler and including a handful of episodes at this writing. As the name implies, this podcast features real stories from real people who have experienced miraculous events. Though new, this show is already generating a buzz.

Stories on the podcast have included a woman during a dark night of the soul who was guided to drive to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art only to be literally carried by two huge angels (Introducing: Real-Life Angel Encounters Podcast), a random Good Samaritan appearing from the fog on a deserted one-lane bridge at just the right time and a voice telling a driver to change lanes in order to avoid a bicyclist (Move to the Left? Really? — Encounter 1), an invisible healing hand (The Invisible Healing Hand — Encounter 2), unmistakable messages from loved ones (Messages from Loved Ones — Encounter 3), and an incredible chance meeting (Was God on the Subway? — Encounter 4). New episodes publish each Sunday.

Real-Life Angel Encounters is the newest show on a brand-new podcasting network, Mind Body spirit.fm, the brainchild of two radio industry and advertising industry professionals, Diane Ray and Tina Williamson. All shows on the network are in the fields of spiritual development, metaphysics, self-help, healing, alternative health, and personal growth. Ray has over 30 years experience in the self-help media space, with a background at both Hay House Radio and Unity Online Radio while Williamson brings decades of marketing experience, working on many blue-chip national accounts. Other shows on the network include All Aboard the Mediumship with Liz Winter, Mental Health: Hope and Recovery, Dynamic Healing: Break Free From Chronic Pain with Dr. David Hanscom and Dr. Les Aria, and Heartcast: A Coach for Your Heart with Ed McShane.

Angels and metaphysical topics are huge, and it seems everyone has at least one random encounter, a message from a loved one, or unexplained encounter. If that’s you, the producers would love to hear your story! Send your real-life angel encounter to angelencounterspodcast@gmail.com.

You can listen to Real-Life Angel Encounters on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Pandora. Or listen on the Mind Body Spirit.fm app. Download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

The Radiate Wellness Podcast and Real-Life Angel Encounters both feature intros and outros voiced by Cassandra Harold, actor, and host of the Unpleasant Dreams podcast and daughter of famed “OG” podcaster Jim Harold of The Paranormal Podcast and Jim Harold’s Campfire fame. Real-Life Angel Encounters features original music by James Wheeler. The host of both shows, Christi Clemons Hoffman is the owner of Radiate Wellness, LLC.

Check out both podcasts and support your local podcasters. If you like what you hear, subscribe or follow wherever you listen, and be sure to rate or review. Subscribes, ratings, and reviews boost algorithms and make it easier for others to find your favorite podcasts. Better yet, tell a friend and show them how to subscribe. Especially with Real-Life Angel Encounters, the more people who know about it, the more people will send in stories and the more astonishing stories you’ll hear.
