One Step into Transformational Leadership

By Heather Robertson

Transformational leadership is primarily dedicated to the inspiration and motivation of institutional and social change.  This ripples into positive impact with employees, job performance, and business growth overall.  The rising popularity of transformational leadership speaks volumes to the outcry for change as this speaks not only to the mind, but also to the heart and what it truly means to be of service.  It's the heart, motivation and spirit of the leadership that will create lasting change.

From my experience transformational leadership is beyond the workplace and for it to be truly effective and long lasting the transformation it’s required to begin and end within us.  To inspire others, to motivate and implement positive change they too must experience an internal shift otherwise the movement is fleeting.  It's often the leader must emanate, without, words what they know to be true - the motive is born from trust, wisdom, and love. It is void of fear, anger, or worry.

Now, instantly if asked what kind of leader we want to be, it's possible and hopeful, we can lean into the wisdom end of the spectrum, however when stress sets in and, if it's high enough stress, the default can be fear.  A transformational leader does not choose from fear but rather inspiration.  They are in control of themselves.  They are moving within the energy or spirit of the action. They are in the flow. They are tapped in. This is where powerful long-lasting results occur.  At times some leaders are not even aware they are in this flow.  It looks and feels different for everyone, but the results are the same - Inspiration and motivation into action that ripples and moves others.

Transformational leadership is a lifelong commitment.  The word transformation means change and break up patterns, since this word is involved in leadership it is nothing less than the mastery of self that inevitably spills into our personal and professional lives.

So how does one develop this inspiring and motivational type of self-leadership?

There is only one step to begin -

Commit to inner self-security with consistency and your leadership will transform.

How to do this?

Begin to take responsibility for all you materialize and you will begin to discover your power, your energy and your focus. Your will to lead will evolve with harmony, balance and influence.

Do this over and over again. Treat it as a self-training and you will arrive in the land of transformational leadership. Upon arrival, explore your environment, resources, and purpose for leading and you will become nothing less than transformational within yourself and for others.

This is the power of transformational leadership.  This is the power that lives within you.

To your unyielding leader within,

Heather
